Clay has many healing benefits it records with touch and holds memory.

At Clay Soul Space York we work with clay to create Hand Blessing`s. using your hand or your loved ones we shape the clay adding personalized details creatively to the clay hand.  Working with family group bookings as well as individually through the power of touch and clays unique grounding quality Hand Blessings are an amazingly positive way to process grief and anticipatory grief, sharing stories in the clay as physical traces of loved ones. It is also perfect for holding and meditating to connect.

During the session we pause to breath, with music as a guide and release with mindful relaxation moments focus on the Hand Blessing as an altar space for grief transformation.

The clay is fired to 1000oC transforming the clay to Bisque ware then the hand is glazed and fired to 1080oC. This can be done by us or you can book in to have a glaze session to decorate your Hand Blessing Altar, then collect the work or postage (charges on request), will unite you with the Altar to continue the breath release and processing your inner connection.

All materials are provided for each workshop, the process of firing and glazing can take up to a month to allow the clay to dry out and be fired twice, bisque then glaze it is an alchemical process turning the clay to stone this should never be rushed!
